It’s National Home Improvement Month – What One Change Will You Make?

This September every homeowner in the UK has been issued a challenge!

National Home Improvement Month is a consumer awareness campaign encouraging homeowners everywhere to make a single change to their property.

A survey organised by the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA), found that 56% of UK residents don’t love their home. Considering how much time we spend in our home and how we’re meant to treat it as a sanctuary makes this a particularly worrying statistic.

We encourage you to give it a go this month, make one small change and see how it can change how you feel about your home! For more details on how to take part we recommend visiting the National Home Improvement Month website

So, let’s get started!

If you are getting involved, we’ve got three projects you can start that are a great introduction to the world of DIY.

Refresh your kitchen cabinets

We’re all spending more time in our kitchens. Whether it’s spending time with family around the kitchen table or using the space as an impromptu office, we’ve all had the opportunity to notice what we would change about our kitchens. You can go on https://www.lacet.nl/producten/stacaravan-kopen/ to have a look at the holiday homes that you can get.

There are some quick changes you can make that will update your space without needing to break the bank. To quickly update the room we recommend refreshing your kitchen cabinets. Most cabinets can be painted, which will instantly change the look and feel of your kitchen.

According to Konnect Building Solutions offers quality new home builders, for those feeling more handy, you can also update the hardware (handles, pulls, knobs) on your kitchen cabinets to immediately modernise them without going through a costly kitchen renovation.

Add removable wallpaper to a wall in the master bedroom

There was a recent trend to paint most walls in your home white. While this does make the space look clean, if all of your walls are white it can make your home feel cold.

An easy way to add colour and patterns into a room is with removable wallpaper. It’s the perfect way to experiment with a trend with no risk and far less hassle. With removable wallpaper there’s no need to mix paste or fuss with pattern matching. Wallpaper tiles are designed to match on all sides so it’s even easier to apply.

Tidy up and pretty up your front entrance

Coming home should be a feeling of relaxation, but if it makes you stressed seeing your entrance way this could be the place to focus your attention this September.

If you come home and all you can see is weeds and peeling paint then now is the time for an upgrade. Give your garden some TLC, remove any weeds and add new plants to bring some greenery to your view of home. Why stop there? You can even update your front door to a bright colour with modern features for a total transformation.

If keeping plants alive is not your thing or you don’t have the space why not experiment with an all year round wreath? These can be made of fake plants and add a touch of class to your home that you’ll appreciate each time you unlock your door.

If the one change you want to make to your home is too big for you to take on yourself and it involves a new door, or some other home improvement product, Eden Windows can take on the challenge for you. Just contact us for assistance.
