How To Measure Your Windows And Doors Ahead Of Them Being Replaced

Don’t let the lockdown get in the way of you buying those new windows and doors you want for your home. Eden Windows is continuing to take window and door orders, and whilst we cannot for the moment come out and install them for you, we can do much of the planning involved in getting them ready for fitting in the (hopefully) near future.

Sash Windows with Georgian Bar Finish

Before any window or door installation, we have to measure up so that we create the right-sized replacements, but that isn’t possible at present unless you hire the professionals from window replacement fort worth who do all the work while we can chill out.

Every window replacement ends up perfect only with the right measurement. To get around that, we’re asking our customers to take the measurements for us to give our team an indication of what is required.

It might sound like a hard thing to do, but it’s genuinely not. This is all there is to it, together with some buying advice:

Windows

  • We need to know the width and height of your current windows. With a tape measure, go to brick-to-brick for both, and provide the measurements in millimetres, centimetres or inches.
  • If you accept the quote given to you, a member of our fitting team will be sent out to your home, once it’s safe, to take exact measurements.
  • When you just want a like-for-like replacement window, please take a picture of one of your windows from the outside and let us see it.
  • When you want a window design you’ve seen at Super Sash Windows and really like, try and share a photograph of it.
  • Make a choice of window material (UPVC or aluminium) and colour.

Doors

  • We need to know the width and height of your current door. With a tape measure, go brick-to-brick for the width and brick-to-floor for the height in either metric or imperial units.
  • Please tell us if you want your new door to open inwards or outwards.
  • Please tell us if your current door is hinged on the left or right when you look at it from the outside.
  • When you just want a like-for-like replacement door, please take a picture of it from the outside and let us see it.
  • When you want a door design you’ve seen somewhere and really like, try and share a photograph of it.
