Major Energy Supplier Profiteering Continues

Those finding it increasingly difficult to manage their energy bills have had their faces rubbed in it following the announcement that profits at British Gas have risen by 23% to £345m. To rub further salt into the wounds it has been confirmed that energy bills passed onto the homeowner by the company rose by £90 in the first half of the year.

Current estimates already suggest that bills will be more expensive this winter than they were last winter which is bad news for those living in, or close to the brink of living in fuel poverty. British Gas claims that as far as energy bill costs are concerned their hands are tied due to the wholesale cost of gas which they have no control over. Anyone expecting a cut in energy bills sometime soon is almost certain to be left disappointed.

We have to face facts, high energy bills are here to stay! All we can do to try and resolve the situation is to make a conscious effort to use less energy in the home, but in order to do this you need to have the right type of windows installed.

Single glazed windows just simply don’t cut the mustard as far as insulation is concerned. Too often they allow cold air to form inside the home which then forces homeowners to rely on their heating system more often than they would care to, resulting in energy bills rising.

This can be eradicated in one simple move. By appointing a home improvement company such as Eden Windows to remove your existing windows and replace them with double glazing in Maidstone or double glazing in Canterbury.

Our energy efficient windows will eliminate draughts from the home and keep the interior warm and cosy whatever time of year it is. We have a range of window styles for you to choose from, each of which you can view at our stylish Medway showroom.
