Slimframe aluminium windows were selected to replace Mrs Geall’s outdated, leaking lead windows to give her a more thermally efficient home.
Despite being built almost 100 years ago, the Geall’s family home maintained much of its original appearance. The old building had constant issues for the household, especially the lead windows which were troublesome to clean and had begun to leak over time. Mrs Geall’s windows were mullioned and she was concerned this could cause an issue.
The new windows were selected for their slim frames that would maximise natural light in the home. Our Eclipse aluminium collection provided vast glazing to give Mrs Geall an exceptional external view. As aluminium is strong and flexible, it was moulded to create slender frames. It is also easy to care for and draft free. Mrs Geall was relieved to know that replacing her windows will lower her costs in yearly maintenance fees.
As an avid painter, Mrs Geall was looking to convert her extension into an art studio for creating stunning watercolour pictures. The team helped Mrs Geall decide on a tiled roof extension to ensure the space was warm, however we made sure there was still a high ratio of glazing so she could take inspiration from the nature outside.
Mrs Geall praised our windows for doing their job of shutting out noise as she commented on how much quieter the family home is. She can also open and close her windows without worrying that the old lead windows will fall out of their frames! Fortunately for Mrs Geall, the household energy bills have decreased due to her energy efficient double glazing too.
