Green Deal Being Reviewed By The Government

The BBC is reporting that the forthcoming Green Deal, which seeks to make UK households more energy efficient, is being looked at by government after fears that it does not go far enough. Set to launch in October, Green Deal will allow people to take out loans to improve the energy efficiency of their property. However, some claim that it will in fact collectively waste £2-3 billion in energy bills.

As pointed out, this is worrying news, particularly at a time when there more than 6 million people already living in fuel poverty, with that figure set to rise even further in the coming months. Many people are desperately short of finances and expensive energy bills only add to their problems. It can even force them to live without fuel when they need it most, causing health implications.

Home insulation will play a key part in the Green Deal. Double glazing in Ashford, double glazing in Chatham and double glazing in Dartford is one of the best ways of insulating a property and keeping energy bills down to a more affordable level. The UPVC frame and two panes of glass inserted into the frame will prevent heat loss and excess use of your boiler system. It should therefore be one of the main considerations in the government’s review.

By making our homes more energy efficient we will also be lowering our carbon footprint which is beneficial in the long-term as it will help the UK become a more environmentally-friendly place to live. It will also enable us to better meet the carbon emissions targets that have been set out and committed to by the government.

If implemented successfully the Green Deal will have a positive impact on the country. Any mistakes and the after-effects could be felt for many years.
