Paulownia – Our most popular hardwood, which is lighter than basswood it grow to maturity in 7 to 10 years making it an incredibly sustainable material. Paulownia offers excellent stability due to it’s engineered core which greatly reduces the possibility of warping. It’s fine texture, knot-free appearance and low oil content make it the perfect timber for staining and painting.

Basswood – One of the most desired hardwood to make shutters from, higher density than Paulownia which offers greater stability and durability ideal for bigger opening. It offers excellent dimensional stability due to it’s engineered core which greatly reduces the possibility of warping. A high quality hardwood offering a smooth and consistent grain making it perfect for painting.

All of our wooden shutter use mortice and tenon joinery, and undergo an extensive kin drying process, prior to being machined.

PVC – Perfect for high moisture room like bathroom or wet rooms, being a man made product PVC will outlast any wooden shutter. They have an excellent temperature operating range, will never warp, peel or flake. In addition they are perfectly suitable for areas where hygiene is important.

Our shutters come in a choice of slat sizes, 47mm, 63mm, 76mm, 89mm & 114mm. Our most common used is 76mm, suits all windows sizes which balance light and privacy. You can make a statement with larger louvers by using 89mm or 114mm for that contemporary look.

Hinges are attached to the shutter panels connected to the outer frame either inside or outside your window recess. Hinges are available in a wide range of colours and finishes, so you can choose a discreet hinge that blends within your shutters or choose a metal tone for complement natural wood finishes.

Hinges colour options are White, Stainless Steel, Nickel, Brass, Antique Brass, Pearl.

Mid-rails are designed to run horizontally between a shutter panel’s top and bottom rails, they are design to give your shutter extra strength and support and are generally required if your shutter are more than 1800mm height.

When using a mid-rail your shutter will operate independently, so the shutter panel can be opened and closed independently of each other, offering the best of both privacy and light at the same time.

Do I have to pay for a home visit?
No, We send our fully trained consultant to your home, we will spent time measuring and discuss your requirements.

Are home visits available on Saturdays and evenings?
Yes, but these slots book fast and are limited.

How long do my shutters take?
Following our site survey, your bespoke shutters will take approximately 8-12 weeks. Our team will then contact you to book in your installation.

How long are the shutters guaranteed for?
Our shutters are guaranteed for 3 years from point of installation.

How does payment work, do I have to pay 100% up front?
Payment terms 50% deposit with the remaining 50% is due prior to installation when we book fitting.
