How To Make Your Conservatory Summer-Ready

You can stop counting down now as the waiting is over – the annual British summer is here!

Solid Roof Edwardian Conservatory

We’ve had a few hot days already and let’s hope there’s more of them to come. But it would be foolish of us to not expect some rainy days, along with the brilliant sunshine.

When the showers hit, you can still have lots of summer fun inside your conservatory, that’s if it’s usable in warm temperatures?

If it’s not, the first thing to do is to replace your current glass or polycarbonate conservatory roof with one of our replacement conservatory roofs, such as the UltraRoof 380.

They’re all incredibly lightweight and can be customised for any style of conservatory, incorporating glass panels, if requested. We may not even have to upgrade any of the existing conservatory framework or windows and doors to fit the product, and it will only take us a few days to install.

Once the new roofing system is in, overheating will no longer occur and it will make it a year-round destination.

Window coverings could also be useful for this time of year to prevent glare and unwanted warmth, so invest in Venetian, Roller or Pleated blinds.

To bring a nice cool breeze into the space, consider the integration of French, patio or bi-folding doors into the structure, which you can leave open as you relax, work away or play games inside.

Did you know that as well as adding some colour and freshness, plants can also reduce room humidity?

It’s true, and amongst the best of them for conservatories are Lapageria, Plumbago, Sarracenia and Hymenocallis.

As a last job, put away any thick cushions, throws and covers and keep them in safe storage for the winter.
