Are all composite doors fundamentally the same?
Composite doors can be very different, with different prices to match. But don’t worry, an Eden advisor can guide you through their differences and find the perfect one for your home.
Standard composite doors are foam filled and often 44mm in depth. They also have GRP colour skins, often referred to as fibreglass, and are relatively lightweight.
Comparably, Solid Core composite doors are thicker in depth (generally 48mm). They are more durable than the standard, foam filled doors as they are made from laminated layers of timber. They have UPVC skins, making it easy to find a colour match with your existing door frame, if you wish.
Can I have a different colour on the inside to the outside?
For most doors, this is not an issue. You can opt for a bright colour for the external side and a neutral colour for the internal, or vice versa! An Eden advisor will be able to confirm if this can be completed in your chosen colours.

How many keys do you get?
We will give you 3 keys with each of our doors. However, you can request extra keys if you wish. Either let us know when placing an order with us or tell us at a later date.
Will I be able to use the same for both doors? (Suited)
Yes, that won’t be a problem. Speak to an Eden advisor about this upon ordering your door.
What does Secured by Design mean?
ecured by Design refers to the security initiative that was developed by the police, with the mission of increasing the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings, in order to create safe spaces to live.
Commonly abbreviated to SBD, their product-based accreditation scheme – referred to as the Police Preferred Specification – offers a recognised standard for all security products with the goal of reducing crime. The scheme includes products such as domestic windows and doors, and the components within them such as locks and hinges.
Conservatory Outlet (part of the Conservatory Outlet Group), our sister manufacturing company, is a registered member of Secured by Design. Therefore, numerous products of ours have been tested to meet the demands of the standard. An Eden advisor will be more than happy to explain more.
What does a 3-star rated door barrel mean?
If a door barrel has been given a 3* rating it has been awarded the highest rating possible. Therefore, it has been thoroughly tested to ensure it gives enhanced security against intruders. Eden’s door cylinders feature snap-secure technology with a lockdown mode, which stops the barrel from being compromised.
Can French doors fold back completely?
Yes, they can. You will need to order your French doors with an egress hinge so they will be able to fold back completely. This works well if you are looking for a full view of your garden when the doors are open.
Should I choose sliding patio or bi-folding doors?
Eden advisors can help you reach an informed decision. Both doors will make a great addition to large openings in your living space. If you are looking for doors that can fold back fully, bi-folding doors can do this, which will give you a full view of your garden. On the other hand, sliding patio doors have slimmer frames so they give you a more uninterrupted view when they are closed.
