2017 has, without a doubt, been a year full of weird and wonderful trends; Unicorns, VR Technology and Beard. However, trends don’t miss the home improvement industry. Here are the top trends from 2017, and our predictions for 2018.
A 2017 Round Up
In 2017, we saw a spike of popularity in the colour grey, across all home improvements. This could have been due to the rise of homeowners wanting modern and contemporary property designs.

Finally, another trend we observed, was the increase in popularity of the orangery over the conservatory. This is because homeowners are looking for alternative options to a traditional conservatory. Our 2018 Trend Predictions
As 2017 draws to a close, we predict that there will be a continued popularity of orangeries due to their large glazed areas, that soak up light and create a sense of space.
As well as this, we think that there will be an increase in homeowners wanting their windows and doors to be coloured. This is because of a shift in trends with more and more people diversifying from traditional windows, and going for more contemporary designs, instead.
A colour that we think is going to be popular, is Ultra Violet as it was recently named Pantone’s ‘Colour of the Year’ for 2018. We have a window and door colour Rich Aubergine – which matches this colour almost perfectly, we believe this will be a common colour in 2018 for door fronts.
