PERSONALISE THE DESIGN

When you have come to a final decision about your preferred window style, we can present a varied selection of coloured finishes, glazing options and intricate hardware for you to personalise the design.

You’re really spoilt for choice in terms of colour…

We have done our very best to cater to the tastes of every single customer by creating an unbelievably broad colour palette consisting of multiple shades, textures and wood effects. Traditional white continues to be the overwhelming favourite amongst our extensive colour range, but there has been a move towards more adventurous finishes in recent times and we can develop them all. Chartwell Green is one of several colours increasingly demanded by customers and the paint application technique we employ ensures it looks exquisite on the frame.

If you value your privacy we have a solution…

The glass used in EXTREME is an integral part of the design and needs to be thought about. You will find it useful speaking to one of our consultants as they can give you their assessment of the glazing option they feel will best serve your needs. It’s completely understandable that you wouldn’t want anyone to be able to see into private areas of your house such as the bathroom. We recommend the use of privacy glazing for these areas as it will obscure the view from the outside while continuing to let plenty of natural light enter into them.

Meticulously crafted handles...

Whether your style is classic or trendy, Eden has a selection of beautifully crafted handles for you to choose from that ensure a smooth opening and closing of your brand-new windows.

Our handles aren’t just great to look at. Each handle has a secure locking system built in to keep your home safe.

How do I measure for a bay window? Do I need to bring measurements to my appointment?

Measurements aren’t a necessity at your first visit, but they’re always appreciated.

If you can bring a measurement of your existing window, with and without the frame, that will give our team a great starting point for giving you a personalised quote.

If it’s a brand new installation of a bay or bow window we appreciate it might be difficult to provide an accurate measurement. If you can, bring measurements of the space in your wall where you’d like your new window and some pictures of the inside and outside of your home to show where it would be installed.

This will help us identify any complexities of the installation that we need to take into account. While this sounds like a lot of information, even rough figures at this stage will be helpful. Before any work begins we’ll send a surveyor to your home to confirm final measurements.

What material can I have my replacement window made in?

Find your perfect bay windows with Eden Windows, available in UPVC.

UPVC is the traditional option for bay and bow windows, known for its enduring popularity over the decades due to its durability and adaptability. Choosing UPVC allows for complete customisation so you can seamlessly blend your new windows with your home, making them easy to match to existing windows and doors.

We recommend UPVC for bay windows thanks to its longevity, built in security, and low maintenance. With UPVC bay windows all they need to look their best is an occasional clean with warm water and a dust free cloth.

For more detailed information on our window range and what materials are available, speak to a member of our team who will gladly help you find the right material for your new bay windows.

How long does it take to install bay windows?

A number of factors influence installation time for new windows, but our team will be there to help every step of the way.

The duration of a bay window installation depends on a number of things, such as the complexity of the installation, window size, and any necessary construction work to complete the installation. On average, the installation process typically ranges from 1 to 3 days, though timelines can vary based on the specifics of each project. No matter how long the installation takes, our team will be there to update you at every stage so you know what’s happening at all times.

Every single installation begins with a survey. The purpose of this stage is to make sure we have all the necessary information before beginning work so that we can give you as accurate a timeline as possible. Our team will lead you through the entire process, from design to installation and after care to make sure you’re happy with the final results.

If you have any concerns or questions about your installation timeline, feel free to discuss them with your installation team. They’re here to help you and make sure you’ve got all the information you need.

Do I need planning permission for bay windows?

If you have any questions about planning permission, our team is here to help.

Whether you need planning permission for adding bay or bow windows depends on your local planning authority’s rules and your property type.

Generally, installing these windows falls under permitted development rights, but there can be exceptions. It’s always wise to consult your local planning office to make sure any works you do to your home are okay and won’t fall foul of restrictions.

This is particularly true for conservation areas across Kent and South East London. While it can help to look at neighbours to see the kinds of work approved in your area, even if other homes on your street have similar windows, rules can change, so double-check to avoid breaching any regulations.

Navigating building regulations can be daunting, but that’s exactly why we’re here to help. We’ll guide you through local rules, ensuring your windows comply with regulations and match your vision for your home. All you have to do is pick the perfect bay or bow windows to suit your home.

What are the differences between bay and bow windows?

While they can look similar, there are key differences between bay and bow windows to be aware of.

The main difference between bay and bow windows is their final shape. Bay windows generally feature larger central panes and smaller panes on the sides, creating an angular connection to your home. On the other hand, bow windows consist of window panes of equal size arranged in a curved fashion for a smooth finish.

Choosing between the two can be a difficult decision. Beyond the number of windows needed, the final shape considerations and aesthetic, it’s essential to factor in the space occupied by each window. Bow windows typically occupy more space than bay windows due to the curvature of the glass and space needed to install them.

Whichever window you choose, by choosing a window from Eden you’re guaranteeing a high quality installation and windows that will last for years after they’ve been installed. Both our bay and bow windows are the ideal choice for homeowners looking to add character and help their home stand out.
